Solar Witness

Solar Witness centres on the commanding presence of Horus, rendered in luminous turquoise against a vivid orange ground. Stripped of surrounding detail, the composition focuses entirely on colour, form and presence, allowing the symbolic weight of the figure to emerge through bold painterly gesture.
Michael O’Neill uses saturated contrast and loose acrylic brushwork to create a work that feels both ancient and immediate, exploring ideas of perception, vigilance and quiet power.
